On Wedensday, April 17, 2008 Jake Hancock was tested for and was awarded the rank of Gokyu and in Goshin Jutsu Karate. We at Goshin Integrated Martial Arts are very proud of his accomplishment and hope that he continues to study and represent the art of Goshin Jutsu Karate.

On Saturday, February 14, 2008 Goshin Integrated Martial Arts students Dave Harrington and Adam Lang attended the second annual Space Coast Open Karate Championships in Viera, FL. Mr. Harrington made his debut in the Black Belt over 35 division, competing in weapons and tradtitional forms divisions. Mr. Lang was making his competetive debut in the mens intermediate division in kata and kumite. Mr. Lang brought home a two cups, finishing second in forms and fourth in kumite an impressive debut! Both students competed well while representing Goshin Jutsu Karate. Congratulations!

On Wedensday, December 17, 2008 Adam Lang and Marianne Rodger were tested for and were awarded the rank of Yonkyu and Schichkyu in Goshin Jutsu Karate. We at Goshin Integrated Martial Arts are very proud of their accomplishment and hope that they continue to study and represent the art of Goshin Jutsu Karate.

10.26.08 Goshin Integrated Martial Arts Celebrates its Second Year in Florida

On Wedensday, October 22, 2008 Goshin Integrated Martial Arts celebrated the second anniversary of the club in Florida. The class celebrated with cake and refreshments, and Tubbs Sensei was presented with a card and a new dogi from his students. We at Goshin Integrated Martial Arts are looking forward to some exciting events in our third year!

On Saturday October 11, 2008 Mr. David Harrington a student at Goshin Integrated Martial Arts, tested for and was awarded the rank of Shodan in Goshin Jutsu Karate. We at Goshin Integrated Martial Arts are very proud of this accomplishment and hope that Mr. Harrington continues to study and represent the art of Goshin Jutsu Karate.

In other promotion news, Goshin Integrated Martial Arts students Elisario and Emeliano Anderson tested for and were arwarded their yellow belts.We at Goshin Integrated Martial Arts are very proud of this accomplishment and hope that they continue to study and represent the art of Goshin Jutsu Karate.

1.27.08 Goshin Integrated Martial Arts Attends Jujitsu Winter Training Camp

On Saturday, January 26 Steven Tubbs Sensei and David Harrington of Goshin Integrated Martial Arts attended the United State Jujitsu Federation's Winter Training Camp held in Melbourne, FL. This seminar was hosted by Samurai Judo and Jujitsu and attended by schools from Florida, Alabama, and Texas. The guest instructor was Bruce Bethers Sensei, the president of the U.S.J.J.F. The focus of the training camp was the judo kata Nage no Kata. Bethers Sensei was a phenomenal instructor and all particpants in attendance came away from the seminar happy.

Congratulations to Adam Lang who successfuly tested for his gokyu (green belt) ranking on Wednesday January 23, 2008. Congratulations and we hope you continue to work hard and progress in Goshin Jutsu Karate.

Coverage of Grand Master Capela's Black Belt Class

On Wednesday, July 11, 2007 Grand Master Stephen Capela taught his monthly black belt class. The focus of this class was the Goshin Jutsu kata Ugoko Ni Roko Ho and its practical applications. Master Capela began the class reviewing the finer points of the kata and their applications, after a brief break Mr. Capela then taught goshin waza based on the movements in the kata.

The class was well attended and everyone was able to take away a deeper understanding of Ugoko Ni Roko Ho and its practical application. If you have not attended one of Mr. Capela's classes you should make a point to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn from Goshin Jutsu's greatest resources.

On Saturday, May 19, 2007 Grand Master Stephen Capela Jr. traveled to Pittsuburgh, PA. to give a clinic on Goshin Jutsu Karate techniques. The clinic was well attended and everyone in attendence came away with something. Goshin Jutsu Karate schools that were represented were the Erie Karate Club, Goshin Integrated Martial Arts, Lyle's Goshin Jutsu Karate Club, and the Shoriki Dojo.

Grand Master Capela opened the clinic by working on ki breathing and applying it to giving and receiving strikes. He then explained weight transfer when stepping in and out of stances. He then moved on to refining the kicking techniques for front and side kicks with an emphasis on speed and accuracy. After a lunch break Grand Master Capela finished the clinic with a wide variety of goshin waza.

Congratulations to Goshin Integrated Martial Arts head instructor, Steve Tubbs Sensei who was promoted to the rank of Sandan (3rd degree black belt) in Nihon Jujitsu and US Jujitsu through the United States Ju-Jitsu Federation. Tubbs Sensei was promoted by his Judo and Ju-Jitsu instructor David Parritt Sensei of Samurai Judo and Jujitsu. Congratulations Tubbs Sensei!

Congratulations to Noel Saldeen

Congratulations to Goshin Integrated Martial Arts student Noel Saldeen on his recent promotion to Rokkyu. Mr. Saldeen startd his Goshin Jutsu instruction in October of 2006 and should be very proud of his recent accomplishment!

On Saturday January 18, 2007. Steven Tubbs Sensei and David Harrington of Goshin Integrated Martial Arts attended a Kobudo Seminar hosted by Bill Quinn Sensei's Okinawan Karate Acdaemy.

The guest instructor was Devorah Domoetrich, Director of the Ryu Kyu Hozon Shinkokai. The seminar focused on Bo and Sai techniques. Dometrich Sensie taught bo Kihon and the kata, Shushi No Kan Sho, as well as the Kihon for Sai of Tsuken Shitahaku. The Clinic was well attended and a great learning experience for all involved.

Grandmaster Capela has decided to teach Goshin Jutsu Karate lessons for black belts ( and advanced kyus, yonkyu & up with their instructor's permission). Classes will start June 13, 2007, at 7:00pm at Lana Lyle's dojo in Union City, PA. The cost will be $20.00 (this may change). Classes will be a monthly event weather permitting.

Master Jon Stankowski, 6th Dan Goshin Jutsu Karate will be having adults only classes at Lyle's Goshin Jutsu Karate Club in Union City on Wednesday nights from 6:00-8:30 PM. He will also be having a black belts only class right after from 8:00-9:30 pm for all black belts.
